Possible trigger
So I could use some advice or possible perspective shift. My uncle is currently on hospice and they are notifying the family that he is dying. I know I should feel sad but I do not. The few memories I do have of him are of abandonment & not being good enough for him to have a relationship with me. I understand he had a hard life being a gay man and having addiction issues etc. I have worked very hard on healing myself & releasing the past. As much as I tell myself I don’t care and that is was not my family; the truth is he was my uncle & he wanted nothing to do with me my whole life. I just received the message that they are calling his family 30 minutes ago and it’s triggering past emotional wounds. I know I’m better than and past all of this but it’s still present in me now.
How can I shift/ release him in love. Finally stop hating the man? I had planned on one day talking to him but now that’s not gonna happen
Well you’re clearly still wounded from how things went with him, which is ok—but remember he’s parasitic—just like most of your family, he wasn’t in control of what he was doing.
His behavior and addictions prove that. So try to see beyond the zombie and see the child, the Soul.
Consider cord cutting.
Accept how you feel, and that it’s a process.
You don’t have to feel anything, just accept what you feel and decide what that’s about, and k own it needs to be healed and you will heal it.
Don’t allow anyone to guilt you into doing anything because he’s dying. Just do what you feel honors you and doesn’t open you up for more wounds.
