11.11 Begins with an X5.16 Solar Flare 2:24 AM Pacific 💥💥💥💥💥 LARGEST SINCE 12.31.2023!
I woke up about 15 minutes later feeling all sorts of HEAT, body overwhelmed by energy, and my SOLAR PLEXUS going nuts. I’m used to big surges of energy, but this felt different.
I didn’t know hat it was at first. It took a little bit to connect the dots.
It’s been a while since we’ve had such a big flare:
The X5.16 is the strongest flare of 2025 so far—far exceeding the year’s previous maximum of X2.7 (May 14 from AR 4087).
The most recent flare ≥X5.16 was an X5.0 on December 31, 2023, from AR 3536. This was the strongest of Cycle 25 at the time, producing a massive coronal wave but no Earth-directed CME.
